Neil Young Launches High Definition Digital Audio Service
According to a recent article on CE Pro, “Neil Young is set to introduce his Pono digital music players and companion download service, which are capable of providing consumers 24-bit/192kHz files for download and playback.”
A hardcore analog enthusiast for many years, Neil Young has finally gone digital! But in his own way, preserving the quality of music, by offering high resolution (a.k.a High Definition) 24-bit audio up to 192kHz sampling rate. To give you some comparison, a standard CD sampling rate is 44.1kHz.
The WiSA Association agrees with Neil Young that digital recording and reproduction should not compromise the original songs, scores, or soundtracks. It’s time to ‘just say no’ to bad sound, from thin TVs, or poor MP3s.
